    On 27 October, the SIGGS Project organised the Strategic Workshop in Luxembourg, together with the National Olympic Committee of Luxembourg (COSL). The Workshop was attended by over 20 participants from around eight different federations, the Ministry of Sport, the Athletes’ Commission of COSL and the COSL itself.

    On 13 October, in the framework of the annual European Athletics Convention which is taking place this weekend in Funchal, Madeira, European Athletics organised a Member Federations Workshop. For this year’s Workshop, European Athletics decided to put good governance, and more precisely the implementation of good governance by the national federations, at the centre of the discussions. With athletics at various levels going through a reform process, it was a call to the federations to engage in the topic at national level as well.

    The SIGGS Project is nearing its end with a Final Conference which will be organised on 29 November 2016 in Brussels. Nevertheless, a number of important project meetings will still take place before the Final Conference. In that perspective, two important meetings were organised in September: the Strategic Workshop in Germany and the fifth meeting of the Steering Committee. Both meetings were organised in Frankfurt and hosted by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) as one of the project partners.

    On 7 June 2016, the SIGGS Project together with the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC/COIB) organised the national SIGGS Strategic Workshop in Belgium. The Workshop was attended by around 80 participants from the NOC, national and regional sport federations.

    On 20 May 2016, the EOC EU Office organised a workshop on the SIGGS Project within the framework of the annual EOC Seminar for NOCs, which took place this year in Tarragona, Spain. The Seminar presented an excellent opportunity for the EOC EU Office to present the progress of the project and to engage with those NOCs that are not part of the original project consortium.

The Workshop, which was hosted by the National Olympic Committee of Portugal (COP), was attended by more than 30 participants from 22 national federations, the Portuguese Olympic Academy and the National Olympic Committee.
