The Olympic Committee of Portugal is the supreme governing body of the Portuguese sport system.
It is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that, besides organising and leading the national delegation in Olympic Games, has several other statutory powers in the context of disclosing, developing and advocacy of the Olympic Movement and sport in general, in accordance with the Olympic Charter, namely: promote the observance of ethics of sport in the framework of competitions and in the relations between sport agents and the community; promote the dissemination of the cultural, educational and social values of Olympism; and encourage, enhance and support the training and education of sport agents and their leading role in the community.
